We learn better incorporating smelling, touching, listening and seeing into our education. This workshop primarily addressed the permaculture principle: Observe and Interact. Our aim was to improve eco-literacy through a fun and curious and creative environment. In our workshop, we focused on developing the rules and objectives of the video game where children received points based on the rarity of what they find in the natural environment. Winners of the Nature Games at Johnstown received a naturally dyed t shirt and second hand nature books. We identified and discuss and paint what we find, as we gather around our nature table of treasures.
